Flight Attendants At Alaska Airlines Reject New Labor Agreement
Alaska Airlines faces further negotiations after its flight attendants rejected a tentative contract agreement. The cabin crew has been negotiating a deal for some time, even authorizing a strike earlier this year.
How are things going?
- Alaska Airlines flight attendants rejected a tentative agreement that offered an average pay increase of 32%. 92.4% of eligible voters participated, and 68% voted against the agreement.
- The union, which represents the flight attendants, plans to continue negotiations and address unresolved issues.
- The tentative agreement, reached in June after a year and a half of negotiations, included pay raises, retroactive pay, and compensation for reassignments.
- Since the majority of flight attendants rejected the agreement, the union will take additional steps to review and renegotiate the terms with the company.
