A new WalletHub study has crowned Spirit Airlines the best airline of 2025, scoring highest for safety, affordability, and budget-friendliness—its best performance in seven years. Delta Air Lines was named the most reliable, with the fewest delays, cancellations, and baggage issues.
The study compared 11 U.S. airlines based on Department of Transportation data, evaluating factors like safety records, pricing, comfort, and pet-friendliness. Despite recent aviation incidents and rising ticket prices, experts say flying remains safer than road travel.
